KA&MELOCK KM 16
KA&MELOCK KM 16 is an elastomer bonding agent designed for use as a topcoat.
When combined with the KA&MELOCK MP 05 primer, it is particularly suitable for applications requiring high resistance to elevated temperatures, corrosion, and dynamic loads during the vulcanization process of elastomers bonded to metal and plastic substrates.
In certain applications, KA&MELOCK KM 16 can also be used as a single-coat bonding agent.
Coating with KA&MELOCK KM 16 provides good resistance to corrosion, oils, and solvents. However, corrosion and heat resistance are significantly enhanced when the system is applied in combination with the KA&MELOCK MP 05 primer.
KA&MELOCK KM 16 enables reliable bonding of elastomer compounds based on natural rubber (NR), polyisoprene (IR), polybutadiene (BR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), nitrile rubber (NBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), butyl rubber (IIR), and ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM) to a wide range of metal and plastic substrates during the vulcanization process.
The combination of KA&MELOCK MP 05 and KA&MELOCK KM 16 is particularly well suited for soft NBR and NR blends, especially in the production of transfer molding (TM) and injection molding (IM) components.
